‘Maximus’ is a story of heartache, imagination and magic! Written and directed by Richard Prendergast, the film follows young India as she tells the story of her brave brother, Maximus to a seemingly uninterested listener, Mike.
What follows is a story only a child could concoct. A story of loss and triumph. Of wizards and beasts. Of Angels and Warriors. This isn’t some random fantastical story, this is a carefully curated plan by a young girl desperate to tell the tale of her brother.
This is Maximus.
The film ‘Maximus’ is a collaborative effort between writer/director Richard Prendergast and producers Rachel Prendergast and Max Mason. Richard’s emotional and epic script coupled with his vast experience as a Director and Cinematographer forged a strong visual and narrative story that created an immense world of monsters, warriors and sorcerers depicting a sister’s love for her brother. The script was then made real by Richard and producers, Rachel Prendergast and Max Mason ably supported by the students and staff of West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds.
The film will premiere at 7.00pm on Wednesday 28th April followed at 7:30pm by a live Q&A session featuring Director Richard Prendergast, Producers Rachel Prendergast & Max Mason and some cast & crew members involved in the film. The event is being proudly hosted by our friends at Big Picture Film Club.
All proceeds from the premiere ticket sales are being donated to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge via the Team Max fundraising team. Team Max was created by family and friends of Max Rowlandson who was successfully treated at Ward C2/PDU Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
Max’s true life battle inspired the film ‘Maximus’ and is told through the eyes and imagination of his sister India.
